- Age Requirement

If you are interested in renting a trailer for the back of your vehicle, you may not need to meet the same requirements to rent a truck. In fact, some states will allow you to rent a trailer if you are 16 years of age.
- Insurance Requirement
Since insurance is required to operate a motor vehicle, you will need to have insurance before you can rent a truck. Typically, you will need to provide proof of insurance before you are allowed to sign the rental contract. There are usually no limits on the amount of insurance you carry as long as you meet the state’s minimum insurance requirements.
